Hello,

It is great to see you here! My name is Tõnu, and I take (or make -- depending on the occasion) pictures.

My favorite setting is to observe quietly from the background and chase emotions. A decade of dancing and watching fellow dancers (especially the latter) has taught me to look for smiles. Whereas a smile does not necessarily mean a happy face in the middle of the frame. Joy has many looks, and not all of them are sharp.

I also enjoy taking portraits -- both in the studio and in nature. This is like a dance where hardly anything happens before everybody involved becomes comfortable. It takes time; I don't believe in a 15-minute session. Especially when taking pictures in nature, a little hike is often part of the deal.
